Empowering Health Through Education

Canyon Vista Medical Center proudly presents the Spring 2025 Conversations About Health Series β€” a free educational initiative designed to inspire and empower our community to live healthier, more informed lives. This year’s event features New York Times bestselling author Mishka Shubaly, who will lead the workshop Building the World of a Story. Known for The Long Run & Other True Stories, Shubaly has spent the past decade teaching a summer nonfiction writing workshop at Yale University. The workshop will focus on helping attendees tell their story, including learning how to immerse a reader in the world of their story, how to make characters appear fresh and new, and other important skills.

Put your best pitch forward!  This will be an all-day event.  Moonshot judges will do a practice round with participants in the morning, offering feedback and suggestions before the final pitches in the afternoon.  A schedule of events will be provided soon.  A continental breakfast and lunch will also be provided!  The winner will advance to the state final pitch competition to be held in Prescott in October.

Participation is FREE and lunch is provided for contestants.
